A Bit About Sunni
Introducing “Evening Song’s Morning Light”. Miss Starla has an important role to fill here.

The name is taken from a breakfast camp song that my family sang every morning of my childhood, hearkening back to my parents’ days as camp counsellors at Camp Roger in Michigan.

“We thank Thee for the morning light.
For rest and shelter all the night.
For health and food and love and friends.
For everything Thy goodness sends.
Amen”

Her call name will be "Sunni" which is a reference to "Your mercies are new every morning", Lamentations 3:23.

Sunni will stay as a farm worker, agility or dog sport partner, and a (potential) next breeding female, the beginning of the next chapter of Evening Song English Shepherds.

She is just as well suited to have a litter with Steady, in the future.

We are excited to see her reach her potential, and to integrate into the daily chores and training here!!!

And I love to have a song with a video that goes along with a name, even if it's two songs for one little pup. I heard this song on the the local K-LOVE station, driving to my friend's home, when we still were not sure if Starla was staying...

Instead of jumping right into our scheduled meeting, I had to look it up on my phone and send the video to myself. (The weird ways that my brain works.) LOL! But that was my moment, when I knew she would stay.

The phrase "He made His mercies new, 'cause He knew we'd forget" jumped out at me on that day... I thought, the pup could be named "Mercy"...

But the song goes on to say "There's never been a morning where the sun don't rise". There you go. "Sunni"

We Are Messengers, with "A Thousand Times".
He made His mercies new, 'cause He knew we'd forget
All the things He's done, And just how good He is
He's a faithful God, every word is true
And He always does just what He says He'll do.

(There's never been a morning when the sun don't rise)

From Evening Song Starry Night, her mama, to Evening Song's Morning Light, the beginning of the next chapter.
