Seven week update. Where has the time gone?
The litter at 7 weeks old is a whirlwind of activity and new discoveries. Yesterday, two pups had climbed out of the barn space and were running in the back acre... The 24" ex-pen height is just not enough, in the smaller outdoor pens set up for visiting... The rush for kibble is enough to make you think twice about putting your hand near the crowd... All pups come at a run for "puppy puppy PUPPY!", especially if the feed can is shaken to give them added reason to come at a full gallop.
It is a joyful, energetic time.
Placements are being determined for each pup, and a few details will be noted along with updated photos. I am grateful to everyone on the wait list, for your patience as we work through this stage.
Tara, first born, has a beautiful adventure ahead of her. She will leave the second week of October, for an outdoors-minded, active companion placement, Her temperament seems especially suited to what her new owner describes as the lifestyle she will have.

Beacon is currently not feeling well, with a diagnosis of UTI and meds for the next 7 days. He will be kept back until he is in full health. He has a potential family lined up.

Gale has a wonderful breeding placement, on a farm where English Shepherds have been part of history for 60 years. She is well suited to that role.

Cole's future will be with a new farmer who has experience working on other farms, and is planning to start her own. Cole may be called on to work on farms other than "his" home farm, which he seems quite able to tackle. I am excited to hear how he fits into his new role.

Sparky will be joining a young family, in an "active companion" role. He is a fun, energetic pup, and is going to a family with English Shepherd experience. Such a great place for this handsome boy.

Vesper, the 6th born, will be companion for an active person, hiking and doing things outdoors in Wisconsin. She is a quieter pup and this placement seems perfect for her.

Lyra, whose placement will be determined soon. She is quick, bright, and eager. Possibly a farm girl, possibly an active companion with an experienced English Shepherd owner.

Sable's future has been nearly certain for weeks now. He is a great fit for one of the families who have waited a long time for a pup like him. Long-time English Shepherd owners, with an outdoor/active lifestyle. I am excited to see him thrive with his new family.

Promise, a near twin to Midnight, has her placement pending. She has farm-dog potential, and also active companion likelihood. Working through final placements this week, she is well suited to either.

Gage, our male pick for a breeding/farm/dog sport placement, is the only pup not specifically placed yet. He has several options, which we will work through this week, until his future is set in motion. He is active, determined, and fun.

Midnight, our last pup. There are several placements in line, waiting to know if she is theirs. She is quick, active, and suited to either a farm or to an active companion role.

We will update the blog in a week, with 8 week photos and hopefully a few updates from new families. Pups will be leaving over the next 3 weeks, all to such great homes.
We are very grateful to those who applied for a puppy from the Steady and Star litter, and who have been so encouraging along the way.
